I'm Brandon Foy, a former prosecutor practicing criminal defense. I work with people who want a clear look at where they actually stand, not a cheerleader for the story they wish the state had.

I care about this work. My goal is the best possible outcome in every case, and I don't mean the scoreboard. A dismissal is a good result. A plea to a lesser charge can be a good result. What I'm really after is that you leave with a realistic picture of the situation, a way to move forward in your life, and as little chance as possible of ever sitting in a criminal courtroom again.

If you want a lawyer whose job is to believe you, I'm not the right lawyer for you. These cases don't turn on what you know happened. They turn on what the circumstances look like.

A true attorney can argue both sides, and should be able to give you the exact arguments the prosecutor will make. Lawyers who can only see one side of the table aren't advocates. I'll give you the worst case, the real risks, and no sugarcoating, so you can decide from reality, not from feelings or a misplaced sense of pride.

I fell in love with criminal law in school, landing a coveted internship at the Multnomah County District Attorney's Office, then going back as a volunteer prosecutor after I passed the bar. My career started as a Umatilla County DDA. I also prosecuted for the cities of Pendleton and Hermiston. Useful background. Not the point of this page.

I enlisted in 2003 and retired as a Master Sergeant in 2024. I'm enjoying that pivot: more time with family, and more attention on this practice.
